I have been under the care of Dr Muhammed Baki for approximately 4 years. I can honestly say he is a wonderful Human being and Doctor. He is incredibly empathetic & understanding, my gut instinct is he genuinely cares and wants to make a difference. He explains things in full and makes sure you understand what he is telling you. He answers any questions/concerns you may have about your condition/treatment. Another thing i really like about Dr Baki is he doesnt talk down or look down on you like some specialist doctors can do.

Dr Baki is a warm and welcoming person. I felt that he listened to my concerns and I was reassured. He took the time to explain my current situation and where we go from here. Dr Baki was up to date with my treatment and situation and he made me feel like a real person, rather than just another patient, and that makes me feel supported and cared for.

Dealt with our bad news with great care and sensitivity, answering our questions and allowing us time to process the prognosis.

Dr Muhammed Baki and his team, including non-medical staff, at the Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre have given me excellent care since the day of my cancer diagnosis. Dr Baki and his team have made the most challenging period of my life bearable and made it easier to cope with the stress and anxiety that comes with a cancer diagnosis. I particularly like having two dedicated CSNs (Julie Deacon and Cat Gribben) that are there to help me when I get into difficulties, their responsiveness and efficiency never ceases to amaze me, without them things would undoubtedly be a lot worse. The staff on the treatment appointments reception are very friendly, patient and helpful and it always amazes me that they are able to remember my name when I turn up. The nurses that change dressings and take bloods are always very helpful and caring and take great care and pride in the work that they do, they always make me feel welcome and we always have a friendly chat. My chemotherapy treatment has always gone well, rarely have I suffered any delays, when I have been in all day the staff have always ensured things run as smoothly as possible so that I am not in any longer than necessary. Dr Baki has been amazing from day one when he sensitively explained that I was not a candidate for surgery would just be receiving palliative care, he allowed my wife and I as much time as we needed to ask as many questions as we liked and did not rush us even though we exceeded our appointment duration. Dr Baki gives a realistic prognosis and sage advice about taking things one step at a time, his honesty at saying that nothing surprises him with cancer tumour is appreciated. In general Dr Baki always listens to what I have to say and never tries to rush our appointments, I think his manner is caring and very professional. I personally would like Dr Baki to maybe explain CT scan results in a bit more detail so that I can understand what is happing to my tumour, but I understand that perhaps this is not as easy as it sounds, and maybe not the best use of our time. Sometimes it is a bit frustrating having to wait up to an hour for a pump disconnect that only takes a few seconds, maybe pump disconnects could be handled differently from other treatments. It would be nice if the chairs with broken mechanisms could be fixed so that patients can adjust them with the remote control as intended. Dr Baki is always ready with a box of tissues when I say something that makes me emotional. It is no understatement to say without the treatment from Dr Baki and his team I would not be alive today and still enjoying life; so thank you all very much, you are doing an excellent job, I am confident that I could not get better care anywhere else.
